Aalsmeerbaan Runway Closure for Annual Maintenance

The Aalsmeerbaan Runway will be closed for maintenance from June 3 to 9, with alternative runways in use during this period.
From Monday, June 3 to Sunday, June 9, the Aalsmeerbaan Runway at Schiphol Airport will be closed for its annual maintenance. During this period, the runway will not be available for air traffic, with the Zwanenburgbaan and Buitenveldertbaan Runways serving as alternatives for takeoffs and landings.
Annual maintenance is crucial to ensure all runways remain in optimal condition. For the Aalsmeerbaan Runway, this includes potential restorative work on the asphalt and markings, thorough checks of cabling and electrics, flushing the rainwater drainage system, cutting the grass around the runway, and cleaning or repairing the runway lights. These tasks will be performed in collaboration with construction company Heijmans.
During the maintenance period, there will be increased air traffic over the areas beneath the Zwanenburgbaan and Buitenveldertbaan Runways. For more information on flight routes, please visit the relevant page on Schiphol's website.
For residents with questions or concerns about air traffic and runway use during the maintenance period, the Local Community Contact Centre Schiphol (BAS) is available. The BAS website provides detailed information on current runway use and operational details and serves as the point of contact for information and complaints about air traffic at Schiphol. BAS can be reached seven days a week (09:00-17:00) at 020 6015 555 or via their website.
Weekly updates on air traffic at Schiphol are published on the BAS and Schiphol websites, providing local residents with insights into air traffic developments. Additionally, residents can access real-time information on current and expected air traffic through the Notifly app. Schiphol also offers a newsletter to keep neighbors informed about relevant developments in air traffic, which anyone can sign up for.
