ITA Airways and Danish carrier DAT have signed a Special Prorate Agreement to improve connectivity between Ancona International Airport and ITA Airways’ domestic and international network.
Under the agreement, passengers departing from Ancona can fly with DAT to Rome Fiumicino or Milan Linate and connect onward to ITA Airways destinations using a single ticket, with baggage checked through directly from Ancona. DAT operates public service obligation routes between Ancona and both Italian hubs.
Available onward destinations include numerous Italian cities — among them Bari, Bologna, Catania, Florence, Palermo, and Venice — as well as international connections to Amsterdam, London, Nice, Geneva, and Paris. The full intercontinental network of ITA Airways, including New York, Miami, Rio de Janeiro, and Tokyo, is also accessible under the agreement.
“Through this partnership, we are strengthening the connection between the Marche region and our Rome Fiumicino hub, as well as Milan Linate airport, facilitating access to the Company’s domestic and international destinations,” said Joerg Eberhart, CEO and General Manager of ITA Airways.
Luigi Vallero, General Manager of DAT, described the agreement as a significant step toward restoring Ancona’s air connectivity, which he said had lacked reliability in previous years. He noted that passengers can now reach intercontinental destinations with a single competitively priced ticket and through-checked baggage from Ancona.
The partnership complements ITA Airways’ current summer schedule of 72 destinations, including 19 domestic, 36 international, and 17 intercontinental routes.
