Lufthansa: More Choice, Entertainment, Sustainability!

News

In the near future, Lufthansa will expand its in-flight services to offer more entertainment, choice and sustainability.

Starting in mid-August Business Class passengers flying long-haul from Germany can choose their main dish up to one month in advance and 24 hours prior to departure.

Six different regional and season menus are available to pre-select. It makes for a more relaxed flight, and helps to optimize food consumption and reduce waste.

Lufthansa is expanding its Onboard Delights Service to include a wider range of hot drinks on European flights as early as the 1st August. The previous disposable cup will be replaced by a new reusable, recyclable cup. The new cup will be able to hold a variety of instant coffees, including latte macchiato and three different teas, as well as hot chocolate. By 2025, the passenger airlines within the Lufthansa Group aim to eliminate all single-use plastics and aluminums from their aircraft.

A new entertainment feature for children and teenagers is also available on long-haul Lufthansa flights. The airline's media library "e-journals", which will be available in the Children's Media Box, will provide a wider range of age-appropriate books for young passengers. The Children's Media Box includes an extensive range of magazines and journals in different languages, which can be downloaded for free.

For the younger passengers, coloring pages can be downloaded to make the time spent at the gate or on the plane fly by. FlyNet's new podcasts for children, available on all short and medium-haul routes, are also a great help. Summer months have seen an expansion of the in-flight children's entertainment program.

On long-haul flights, young passengers can choose from more than 50 TV and film programs as well as audio programs. Children's audiobooks and TV shows can be downloaded for free via QR codes from the Lufthansa gate and playgrounds at Terminal 2 in Munich, and Terminal 1 Frankfurt during the holiday season.
