1 Million Miles Were Given Away by United Airlines and Chase

Yesterday, January 17th, was the first National Lose the Jet Lag Day.
The United Family of Cards from Chase celebrated by giving away 1,000,000 United MileagePlus Miles for one lucky winner.
"....[T]he turn of the new year is the perfect time to commit to getting the most out of travel," Laurinda Rainey, general manager of United Co-Brand Cards at Chase, said in a statement. "We are excited to launch this Sweepstakes on National Lose the Jet Lag Day to raise awareness of the impact jet lag has on travel."
United and Chase have teamed up with Timeshifter, a high tech app created by internationally renowned scientists. It is led by Dr. Steven W. Lockley (an associate professor at Harvard Medical School) and Timeshifter’s chief scientist. Its mission is help travelers understand jetlag and address its root causes.
Timeshifter spokesperson said that jet lag can have serious financial and human costs. These include poor concentration, reduced productivity, and lower enjoyment. Timeshifter dispels the myths about jet lag and replaces them by real science. It allows travelers to manage their circadian rhythms using small, specific actions at specific times. This will allow them to arrive at their best.
It allows users to enter their travel plans. The app also provides reminders to reset watches and reminds them to drink caffeine. This helps the user quickly rebalance to their new zone. If you aren't sure how it works, Mike Massimino is a former NASA Astronaut and Timeshifter advisor.
"When I was an astronaut, we learned how to shift our circadian rhythms to prepare for rocket launches and spacewalks. Because our circadian clock regulates our sleep, alertness, and almost all other biological systems in our body, it was key to our safety, performance, and health," Massimino shared. "It's gratifying to see circadian science finally being applied outside of NASA to equip travelers to tackle jet lag."
The winner received a subscription for a year to Timeshifter's jetlag app. This will allow them to make the most out of their future trips. The subscription will be sent to eight other people along with 500,000 United MileagePlus points. Another 500 people were eligible to win a subscription for a year to Timeshifter's jetlag app.
