Winter festivals around South Korea
If aiming for Asian destinations during this winter, here’s a list of events to be enjoyed while you admire the natural beauty of South Korea.
The Little Prince Lighting Festival of Petite France
The festival is hosted by the Petite France Park, located in Gapyeong, Gyeonggi Province.
Loaded with nighttime illuminations, the area is also highlighted by the decorated buildings and streets, along with Christmas trees dominating the general winter landscape.
During the event, visitors can enjoy puppet and magic performances, as well as magnificent plaster art.
Opened from 9am to 8pm, the festival will welcome its visitors until the 28th of February. Admission fees range from 5.000 and 8.000 won.
Everland Snow Festival
Offering a wide range of winter games and activities, the event features snow buster tube slides, a snow safari, one butterfly exhibition, a Santa house inside a reindeer village and a small zoo.
Everland Snow Festival is opened until the 3rd of March. The activities here are suitable for visitors of all ages.
Chilgapsan Ice Fountain Festival
Hosted in South Chungcheong Province, the event focuses on a gigantic Alps Castle ice fountain home of fairy-tale characters. Moreover, the bridge over lake Cheonchangho is also a hot spot for visitors here.
Opening hours are from 9am to 5pm for daytime and 6pm to 10pm. Chilgapsan Ice Fountain Festival closes its doors on the 18th of February.
Jaraseom Singsing Winter Festival
Organized by the Gapyeong-eup Shopping Center Cooperative, the event offers a wide range of winter activities highlighting the holiday atmosphere and the magic of the cold season.
Entrance fees are 17.000 won per visitor.
