United To Equip Its Foreign Flights With Panasonic In-Flight Systems
In-flight entertainment provider Panasonic Avionics' Astrova will make its U.S. debut with UA.
Beginning in 2025, the technology will be available on the seat-back displays of some new United Boeing 787 and Airbus A321XLR jets.
Panasonic Avionics claims that the Astrova technology's picture will be crisper than that of competing seat-back displays and that it would provide colours on par with those seen in the movies.
The business also claimed that United will be able to update the system with ease and without costly hardware modifications thanks to the company's proprietary detachable peripheral bar technology.
Panasonic Avionics said that this unlocks the opportunity for United to swiftly integrate the technologies and functionalities people expect and utilize in their everyday lives.
Moreover, Astrova's lightweight construction will aid United in cutting fuel costs by a substantial amount.
