United Airlines Will Restart Daily Flights To Beijing

The carrier will also boost its operations to Shanghai.

United Airlines has resumed service to Beijing and is increasing its service to Shanghai, re-establishing direct flights between the United States and China. The company stated that beginning November, it would operate daily flights between San Francisco and Beijing, and that commencing October, it will boost the frequency of its flights between San Francisco and Shanghai.

United's Senior VP of Global Network Planning and Alliances, Patrick Quayle, explained that the addition of two new daily non-stop flights from San Francisco to Beijing and Shanghai reflects the "consistent demand" the aviation sector is currently witnessing from its customers. The carrier additionally stated however, that because to flight limitations over Russia, its ability to provide non-stop service to China from its East Coast terminals had been "severely constrained."

United Airlines' website and mobile app now provide reservations for the San Francisco–Shanghai route. Nevertheless, tickets for the route between San Francisco and Beijing would not be offered for sale until the following week, pending permission from the relevant authorities.

When compared to connecting flights, taking the direct trip may save passengers anywhere from three to six hours, with some connections taking much longer than that.
