UK overwhelmed by 90mph raging winds

News

As aggressive storms hit Britain, authorities have announced the closing of Dartford Crossing, in addition to the chaos brought by railroad delays and school closures.

Officials in the UK have warned the population to avoid all unnecessary travel by car or by train, due to the fact that furious 93mph winds have ravaged the country during the last days.

After the closing of Queen Elizabeth II bridge, Dartford Crossing has also closed for security concerns.

As the media is loaded with dramatic pictures of ravaged houses, weather forecasts continue to warn about yellow codes for Wales. 60mph winds are as well set to affect south Lincolnshire and East Anglia on Thursday morning.

"It's going to be a cold and blustery day with further showers especially in the north and west. There is likely to be disruption to travel so before you had head out, it's worth taking a look at the state of the roads you will be traveling on. There is a risk you could be held up and delayed and if you think that's possible, make sure you have essentials with you such as coats, water and food in case you get held up for several hours,” explained meterologist Alex Burkill.

Due tot the blocking on the railways, travelers have experienced unpleasant, huge delays, while police and fire&rescue services struggled to urge people about fallen trees that could seriously injure walking citizens.

Considerable delays are still expected for Manchester Piccadilly, Birmingham New Street, Crewe and Redditch stations.

The bad weather warnings will be extended for Northern Ireland and northern England, as low temperatures and powerful winds will continue to affect the aforementioned areas.
