Travel + Leisure releases the list of the cheapest holidays

Travel + Leisure explained that the secret of finding the best summer destination lies in choosing the most appropriate month and to understand the tourist profile (group, family, couple, single). Using data from booking.com, the Travel + Leisure team has compiled a list of the cheapest holidays for this summer.

As the travel agency find out, when talking about summer holidays, most of their customers are thinking about the most important European capitals such as London, Paris and Rome. Even though those are not exactly cheap destinations, one can stay under the budget if choose to leave in August when the prices are the lowest. One can save up to 24 % of the budget compared to June or July.

But the tourists must be prepared to see many shops closed because much of the residents of these cities are going on holiday this month.
The company has appointed Stockholm as one of the best summer destinations. July means a saving of 16 % compared to June, when the prices are maximum and there is a lot more of the Scandinavian sun.

Praga is all about cultural events. July comes bundled with many cultural events in Prague: Bohemia Jazz Fest with the famous Don Giovanni by Mozart's mounted in the same theater where it premiered in 1787.

In Madrid, in August, temperatures are quite high and many shops are closed, but one will make a saving of 21 % compared to June. More, in August, the queues at the museums and the Prado are smaller.
