Traffic congestion during the Passover holiday in Israel
This year’s time off for the popular Passover vacation in Israel came with severe congestions towards the country’s most in demand destinations.
With schools off and many employees taking time off from work, several destinations in Israel's North have experienced traffic congestion with the occasion of the current holiday.
As reported by Ynet and the Kinneret Cities Association, the Jordan Park in the Golan Heights was closed due to high demand and the ways to the beaches of Lake Kinneret in the Galilee area were jammed due to tourist crowding.
Visitors are advised by the local authorities to also check parking lots information in order to see if there are any vacant places left and avoid even more massive blockages.
The Passover, also called the Pesach, is a major Jewish holiday celebrating liberation of the Israelites from slavery in Egypt. This year, the Pesach is celebrated from April 15 to April 23.
