Terror attack spreading panic at Manchester Arena

News

22 people, children included, lost their lives in violent blast during Ariana Grande concert

A lone suspect carrying a bomb pulled off an attack on Monday at around 10:30 p.m., in what was the deadliest terror attack in Britain since the bombings in London 12 years ago.

According to the local Police, the attacker carrying “an improvised explosive device” also died at the arena.

As panic took over the crowd, teenagers and children got separated from their parents in a dramatic scene resulting in 22 people dead and 59 wounded. Both the Arena and the Manchester Victoria train station were immediately evacuated by authorities.

More than 400 officers were deployed to service the area after the incident. Investigations aim to reveal if the attacker acted alone or as a part of a wider terrorist network, as well as to establish with certainty what kind of device was used in the blast.

The artist, Ariana Grande, was not hurt. Earlier today, she posted messages on her Facebook and Twitter accounts saying she is deeply affected by the atrocity and is very sorry for the victims.

The attacked was claimed by ISIS.
