Stunning Bubble House Renovated and Open to the Public
This amazing residence is not a tourist attraction, but the dream house of the famous Italian fashion designer Pierre Cardin on the French Riviera, near Cannes. Known as the "Palais Bulles" the bubble house in Théoule-sur-Mer was originally designed by the Finnish architect Antti Lovag for a French industrialist, and its futuristic design with strange windows looks like a submarine. The design truely exploited the spectacular volcanic landscape of the Côte d'Azur and unequaled beauty of the Mediterranean.
The house was acquired by Cardin in 1989 by Sotheby's, with the sum of 50 million francs. The house has an area of over 1,200 sqm, 10 suites decorated by famous designers, a reception hall for 3,500 people, an outdoor amphitheater and over 8500 square meters of lush gardens.
Antti Lovag, a visionary who in childhood was building igloo sites in Scandinavia, did not even consider that deal with architecture, but ... habitologie, a scientist studying the habitat development. He is adept of a so-called "organic architecture", with shapes inspired by nature. He confessed that began construction from inside to outside, and the windows are positioned according to the view and position of the sun.
