Southwest Airlines Now Offers Bottle Iced Coffee on Flights

News

Southwest Airlines now offers iced coffee for its passengers onboard. The bottled beverage will be available for $4 or for the price of a coupon.

It will be available on over 100 destinations, and served on more than 4,000 flights each day. These destinations include 42 US states, Puerto Rico, Mexico and Central America.

Espresso and cream iced coffee is sealed in a glass bottle. It is usually poured over ice. It is ideal for travelers who are busy and need to have a quick beverage. Each bottle contains only 150 calories. It is low in calories. The coffee contains 120mg of natural caffeine and is made from all-natural ingredients.

Since 2016, Southwest Airlines has partnered up with Community Coffee, and the company has provided hot inflight coffee to the airline ever since. Recently, the two companies decided to add iced coffee to their partnership. The announcement of Mintel's survey results revealed that 42% of Generation Z drinks cold coffee. According to the survey, ready-to-drink coffees was the fastest-growing segment of the coffee industry.

Community Coffee is America's largest family-owned coffee retailer. It is responsible for the import, roasting and distribution of coffee products to retailers and businesses across the country. Community Coffee also sells its products on its website. The company sells whole-bean, single-serve, fresh-brewed, ground coffee, as well as ready-to-drink products.

A portion of sales will be donated to support Latin American origin producers in rural areas. The partnership of Southwest Airlines and Community Coffee will allow origin producers to access secondary education and advanced agricultural training with the support of the ECOM Foundation for Development of Origin Resources. This partnership will support the coffee industry and ensure that local communities are supported.

This announcement is part of a series of recent announcements regarding onboard and inflight upgrades across Southwest Airlines flights. The Boeing 737 MAX will see the airline modernize its cabin. Southwest plans to upgrade WiFi and install USB-A/USB-C ports on every seat. Southwest is also looking to expand the capacity of its overhead bins for carry on luggage. These changes will be implemented in all new and existing aircrafts this year.

Inflight coffee reports were issued shortly after the airline was set on fire in December 2022. This is one of the busiest travel times of the year. The airline cancelled thousands of flights, leaving passengers without a flight. This was due to outdated technology and processes that hadn't been updated since the 1990s. The FAA launched an investigation into the incident and Andrew Watterson, the CEO of Southwest Airlines was called to testify before Congress.
