SAS launches Copenhagen–Istanbul route with daily flights
iGA Istanbul Airport continues to expand its Northern European network as Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) has launched a new daily route between Copenhagen and Istanbul.
The new service, which began on March 27, 2026, connects Copenhagen Airport with iGA Istanbul Airport using Airbus A320neo aircraft, offering a capacity of 180 seats per flight.
The route marks a significant step in strengthening connectivity between Türkiye and the Scandinavian region, responding to growing demand for both leisure and business travel. It also reinforces Istanbul’s position as a major global aviation hub linking Europe, Asia and beyond.
Airport officials highlighted that the partnership aligns with iGA Istanbul Airport’s broader strategy to expand its airline network and increase international reach, particularly across Northern Europe.
The new connection is expected to support tourism flows and boost economic ties between the regions, while providing passengers with more flexible travel options and seamless connections through both Istanbul and Copenhagen hubs.
SAS also emphasized the importance of the route in enhancing regional connectivity, noting that the new service strengthens links between Scandinavia and global destinations via its Copenhagen hub.
With over 340 destinations served through more than 100 airline partnerships, iGA Istanbul Airport continues to position itself as a key global transit hub connecting continents, markets and travelers.
