Ryanair to implement new hand-luggage policy

News

Starting next week, the passengers flying with Ryanair will experience new hand-luggage restrictions.

Due to passengers often taking advantage over company’s relaxed onboard luggage rules, Ryaniar representatives have recently announced that the airline will change the baggage policy the week to come. Passengers may face additional charges if their hand luggage will not comply with the company’s regulations.

What will the changes be?

Starting January 15th, clients choosing Ryanair services will no longer be allowed to put a second piece of luggage in the lockers above their seats. Instead, it will be put in the hold for no extra-fees and picked up at the carousel after the flight will arrive at its destination.

“We’re reminding our customers that from Monday, only Priority Boarding customers will be allowed to bring two carry-on bags on the aircraft. All other customers will be allowed to bring one smaller carry-on bag on board, while their second (bigger) wheelie bag will be placed in the hold (free of charge) at the boarding gate,” explained Kenny Jacobs.

Nevertheless, the maximum weight for checked-in bags will increase with 5 kilos, which means that 20 kilos bags will be allowed onboard of the low-cost flights. This service will only cost £25, £10 cheaper than before.

As stated, Ryanair’s representatives hope that the measures will cut down flight delays, as well as ease customers’ access regarding luggage taxes.
