The western Poland city of Poznan will welcome the new Ryanair base beginning operations at the end of this year.

The Irish low-cost airline based in Swords will invest $100 million in the inauguration of seven new routes departing from Poznan Airport. Passengers choosing the company’s services will now be able to visit destinations such as Athens, Billund, Castellon, Eilat Ovda, Madrid, Oslo Torp and Tel Aviv.

Moreover, London Stansted will also be added on the flight schedule of the low-cost carrier. This way, a total of 14 destinations will be served by Ryanair starting this year.

“We are pleased to announce a new Poznan base, our fifth in Poland, as we launch our winter 2017. Our based aircraft represents an investment of $100 million, which further underlines our commitment to growing traffic, tourism and jobs in the Wielkopolska region and we look forward to working closely with our airport partners to deliver further growth in Poznan,” commented Juliusz Komorek, the chief legal and regulatory officer at the base in Poland.

The new base in Poznan is expected to deliver 500.000 tourists to the city and Poland and create 375 new airport jobs. Both Polish business and leisure passengers will be enabled to access better connections and lower fares for flights to major hot-spots in Ireland and UK, such as Dublin and London.
