Royal Jordanian Airlines has resumed direct flights between Vienna Airport and Amman, Jordan, with four weekly services starting June 24, 2026, operating on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays using an Airbus A320neo.
The route revival follows a pandemic-related interruption and reconnects two cities with a longstanding aviation history — Royal Jordanian first operated flights between Vienna and Amman around 50 years ago. The airline’s return was marked by an inauguration event at Vienna Airport attended by Karim Makhlouf, Chief Commercial Officer of Royal Jordanian, alongside Vienna Airport joint CEO Julian Jäger and a member of the Vienna City Council.
“The return of Royal Jordanian to Vienna marks the continuation of a remarkable success story. The new direct service strengthens the international connectivity of Vienna Airport and creates additional travel opportunities for business travellers, tourists, and people visiting family and friends in the region,” said Julian Jäger.
The new connection also enables onward travel via Royal Jordanian’s Amman hub, giving Austrian passengers access to destinations across the Middle East and beyond. The route forms part of Royal Jordanian’s ExploRJordan tourism initiative, designed to promote Jordan as an international travel destination with a focus on sustainable tourism.
Jordan’s key attractions include Petra, one of the New Seven Wonders of the Modern World, the desert landscapes of Wadi Rum, and the Dead Sea.
