Royal Jordanian Airlines has inaugurated its new service from London Stansted to Amman, marking a significant expansion of its route network into the Middle East and Asia. The new service, operating four times a week, represents the first for both the route and airline at London Stansted Airport, providing an essential link for passengers in the East of England.
The flag carrier, a proud member of the Oneworld alliance, announced that flights to Queen Alia International Airport would be available every Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Sunday. The launch flight on Sunday, March 3, saw a festive celebration among passengers, crew, and airport officials, highlighting the route's anticipated success.
Simon Gorrighan, Aviation Director at London Stansted, expressed his enthusiasm for the new addition to the airport's diverse destination portfolio. He underscored the opportunity for tourists to explore Jordan's famed attractions, including the Wadi Rum desert, Petra—a UNESCO World Heritage Site—and the popular diving destination of Aqaba on the Red Sea.
Karim Makhlouf, Chief Commercial Officer at Royal Jordanian, emphasized the airline's commitment to promoting tourism to Jordan and enhancing Amman's status as a pivotal gateway to the Levant. The new route to London Stansted is poised to facilitate unprecedented access to Jordan's historical and natural wonders, in line with the airline's strategic focus on driving tourism and bolstering its network connectivity.
