Resorts in Slovenia fully booked for Easter

News

Both Easter and Labour Day holidays will bring a massive wave of tourists in Slovenia, after the country's tourism sector was severely shaken by the pandemic.

According to data from Sava Group, Slovenia is strongly recovering after the Covid-19 related tourism halt, with more than 90 per cent of accommodation facilities reserved for the incoming period.

Tourists from Slovenia, Austria, Germany, Italy, Hungary, Croatia and Serbia are expected to spend their Easter and May Day holidays here, with the coastal region of Primorska, popular among sea and wine lovers, being the favourite destination. Also on top is the ski centre Kranjska Gora, especially preferred by visitors coming from Austria, Italy and Germany.

However, visitors the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg have the tendency of avoiding Slovenia due to the ongoing war in Ukraine.

But, as the country’s urban tourism was severely affected by the pandemic, now it’s gaining more and more ground.

“We are very glad that the headlines are not full of Covid anymore. Unfortunately, there is the war in Ukraine, but for now, it is not affecting us as negatively as we feared”, commented the President of the Slovenian Hoteliers Association and the head of the Slon Hotel in Ljubljana, Gregor Jamnik.

British and American guests also contribute to the increase of tourism revenue in Slovenia, as Russians currently refrain from travelling in the area due to the conflict with Ukraine.

On the other hand, suppliers constantly raising prices increases concerns among the hoteliers in Slovenia.
