137-year-old Victorian property is looking for a buyer

Victorian property with 137 years of history is up for sale. It has recently been redeveloped into the hospitality industry.
Heywood Hall in Denstone, Staffordshire was originally built in 1885 for the provost of Denstone College. This was George Percival Heywood. He was part of a Manchester-based wealthy banking family that initiated the development of the village after they arrived in 1840.
Heywood also donated the land and the funds to build gothic buildings, which can still be seen in Denstone today.
The PS1.25 million property was extended in recent years to include six self-catering one- and two-bedroom apartments. This apartment is available to tourists and business professionals who visit the village. It is located less than 2 miles from Alton Towers, six miles from Uttoxeter Racecourse and one mile from JCB’s global headquarters.
Emily McPheat is helping with the sale of the property. The property sits on over half an acre. She stated: "Heywood Hall is steeped in history and presents a unique opportunity for a hospitality entrepreneur to take over the running of a successful holiday letting property, or to find a project to potentially transform into a retreat, apartments or private nursing home.
“Since venturing into the hospitality industry, the property is often fully booked and this is driven by its popular location and proximity to Alton Towers and Uttoxeter Racecourse.
“This opportunity also comes at a time when families are continuing to favor staycations over trips abroad even after the pandemic.”
