Poland Will Allow Citizens of Ukraine & Belarus to Submit National Visa Applications

Polish authorities announced that they have extended the period for which foreigners who are legally permitted to reside in Poland can submit visa applications.

A recent press release from the Polish government stated that citizens of Ukraine or Belarus will be allowed to apply for national visas up to March 31, 2023. SchengenVisaInfo.com reports.

"Until March 31, 20,23, the possibility of applying for national visas by authorised foreigners who are residing on territory of the Republic of Poland has been extended," reads the statement of government.

According to the government, applications for national visas can be made by citizens of these two countries following arrangements through the VFS Global website for Poland.

It has been stressed that visa applications must be submitted at the visa application center that corresponds to the pre-selected registration site - Warsaw, Poznan or Lublin.

"Persons failing to register to submit visa applications are asked to please follow the website on a regular basis and the new registration deadlines, which will be successively made accessible," stressed the government.

Although Poland extended the time period for citizens of Ukraine or Belarus to apply to national visas, it was pointed out that only certain groups of citizens from Ukraine and Belarus can submit their national visa applications to Poland.

The government stated that citizens of Ukraine or Belarus can apply for Polish national visas, according to the Regulation of Minister of Foreign Affairs, December 27, 2022. This is provided they require the visas to drive in international road transport, and non-commercial road transport.

Citizens of Belarus who are applying for visas for humanitarian reasons may also be eligible to submit applications. Citizens of Ukraine and Belarus are eligible to submit applications for national visas.

The cost of Polish travel documents has increased to EUR74. Other fees have increased, such as those for issuance of passports, residence cards and permits.
