People are fleeing from Ukraine, while trying to escape invasion
People travelling by bus, car or on foot are trying to reach destinations in Ukraine’s neighbour countries in order to escape Russian troops.
Poland and Romania are currently welcoming refugees.
Polish authorities have announced the opening of nine centres along the 535-kilometre common border with Ukraine, in a remarkable logistics and humanitarian effort managing the influx of refugees.
Romanian borders are also crowded, with both refugees and volunteers that came to help from all corners of Romania in unprecedented civil mobilization aiming to help Ukrainian population.
Besides buses, people from Ukraine are crossing the border on foot, by trains or by car to flee violence. Women, children and animals wait in lines at the customs, hoping for shelter and safety.
"My husband told me that I am panicking and it won't happen. Now it's true, and this is absolutely incredible", commented a Ukrainian woman, while crossing the border into Poland accompanied by her children.
According to The Guardian, more than 100.000 Ukrainians were displaced and many more are expected as the conflict escalates with every passing day.
