Pegasus Airlines and TEV Launch Scholarship Fund for 1,000 Female Students

On Türkiye's centennial, Pegasus Airlines partners with the Turkish Education Foundation (TEV) to support 1,000 female university students with scholarships, mentorship, and internship opportunities.

In a significant move to promote education and gender balance, Pegasus Airlines has partnered with the Turkish Education Foundation (TEV) to initiate the 'Pegasus Every Step to the Future Scholarship Fund'. This initiative marks the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Türkiye and aims to provide university scholarships to 1,000 female students. The collaboration was officiated at a signing ceremony held at the Pegasus Airlines Headquarters on February 20, 2024, attended by Pegasus Airlines’ CEO Güliz Öztürk and TEV General Manager Banu Taşkın.

This scholarship fund, extending from the 2023-2024 academic year until the beneficiaries complete their university education, will allocate 25% of its scholarships to female students from areas impacted by the devastating February 2023 earthquake. This strategic focus underscores Pegasus Airlines' dedication to supporting communities in need while fostering educational advancement among Türkiye's young women.

Beyond financial assistance, the scholarship recipients will gain access to a plethora of developmental opportunities. These include mentorship from Pegasus executives, internships within the company, exposure to various aviation sector roles, and participation in sessions and seminars highlighting the contributions and potential of women in aviation.

Güliz Öztürk expressed pride in this landmark initiative, emphasizing Pegasus Airlines' commitment to gender balance and the importance of supporting the education of female university students. "This initiative not only honors the legacy of the Republic of Türkiye but also demonstrates our resolve to assist those affected by the February 2023 earthquake," Öztürk commented.
