Tourists on route to the United States will face enhanced security measures applied by the authorities in the country.

The Department of Homeland Security has announced the decision intended to considerably reduce the hidden explosives constant imminence. The measures translate into additional screening of the passengers, as well as enhanced check-out for all electronic devices.

According to the official statement, the regulations will apply to all commercial flights into the U.S. territory. This means that more than 2.000 flights and tens of thousands of travelers will be affected by the decision.

As the authorities have already implemented a cabin laptop ban earlier this year, affecting citizens of 8 predominantly-Muslim countries, the new rules come to replace the computer banning that has been meanwhile lifted.

The security screening aims to make sure terrorists will not potentially detonate a bomb hidden inside a laptop computer.

Short security interviews with the passengers will also be included at the check-in or boarding areas.

The new Department of Homeland Security rules are valid starting October 26th.
