North Korean Carrier To Restart Air Travel to China
Commuter flights from Pyongyang to Beijing have resumed.
With Air Koryo’s flight from Pyongyang, North Korea's capital, landing at Beijing's PEK airport, air travel between the two nations is finally back in operation.
Since North Korea sealed its borders in January 2020 to avoid an invasion of coronavirus, this has been the first confirmed foreign commercial aircraft to exit the nation's territory.
In light of the relaxation of Chinese outbreak travel limitations in January, the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued an official announcement approving the return to normal flights connecting China and the DPRK by the North Korean flag airline, Air Koryo.
At the same time, regular connections between North Korea and Russia are expected to restart on Friday, August 25.
