Manchester Airport opens new Terminal 3 area and 470-seat Sporting Chance sports bar
Manchester Airport has opened a new section of Terminal 3, including the launch of Sporting Chance, a large sports bar designed to enhance passenger experience and increase terminal capacity.
The new venue, located in an area previously used for private lounges, adds more than 250 additional seats to the terminal and features a total capacity of 470 seats. Sporting Chance includes 69 television screens showing a wide range of live sporting events, with some screens in private booths that can be controlled by guests.
The bar offers an extensive food and drink menu, alongside panoramic airfield views from one of the highest vantage points within the airport.
The development is part of a broader transformation programme for Terminal 3, enabled by Manchester Airport’s £1.3 billion investment in Terminal 2. The expansion of Terminal 2 has allowed the closure of Terminal 1 and freed up additional space for Terminal 3 to grow.
Currently, Terminal 2 handles around 75% of the airport’s total traffic, while Terminal 3 is being reconfigured and expanded to improve passenger flow and facilities.
As part of the changes, the existing Lion and Antelope bar will close, freeing up central space in the terminal to further increase capacity.
Airport officials say the upgrades are focused on delivering more space, improved amenities and a better overall travel experience, with additional developments and new facilities expected to open in the coming months.
