Lufthansa Launches Frankfurt–Kuala Lumpur Route
Lufthansa has announced the launch of a new nonstop connection between Frankfurt and Kuala Lumpur, expanding its Southeast Asia network as part of its winter 2026/27 schedule.
The new route will begin on October 25, 2026, with flights operating five times per week year-round, providing direct connectivity between Germany and Malaysia. Tickets for the service are already available for booking.
Flight LH704 will depart Frankfurt at 21:30, arriving in Kuala Lumpur at 16:40 local time the following day. The return service, LH705, will leave Kuala Lumpur at 23:55 and arrive in Frankfurt at 06:00 the next morning, offering convenient connections to Lufthansa’s global network from its main hub.
The route will be operated using Lufthansa’s Boeing 787 Dreamliner, one of the newest and most efficient aircraft in the airline’s fleet. The aircraft will feature 287 seats across three classes and include the airline’s latest Allegris cabin concept, designed to deliver a modern premium long-haul travel experience.
Lufthansa says the new connection reflects the airline’s strategy to expand in Southeast Asia, a region with strong tourism and economic growth. Malaysia welcomed more than 42 million visitors in 2025, making it one of the most popular destinations in the region for international travellers.
With the addition of Kuala Lumpur, Lufthansa strengthens its presence in Southeast Asia, joining existing destinations such as Bangkok, Singapore and Phuket. From the Lufthansa Group’s home markets, the airline will be the only carrier offering nonstop flights to Malaysia.
