Lufthansa Group celebrates record number of passengers

107.7 million travellers were transported in 2015 by the airlines of the Lufthansa Group, surpassing both the records previously made and the management's expectations

The number of passengers who have chosen the Group services in 2015 is 1.6 per cent higher than the one in the previous year. At the same time the company carried out more than one million flights and achieved the highest ever seat load factor of 80.4 per cent. This corresponds to an increase in capacity utilisation of 0.3 percentage points compared to 2014.

 

The management board confirms that these favorable results are due to massive investments in offers and services throughout the past few years as 17 new aircraft were taken into service by the Lufthansa Group last year. The improvements made by this airline increased the demand and convinced more customers than ever before to fly with one of its planes. Thereto, the considerably increased passenger comfort and the cabin upgrades that one can enjoying regardless of class are key elements. Also, on board, passengers enjoy enhanced services and the availability of the FlyNet broadband internet connection.
