Job Expo With Over 500 Openings To Be Held At Manchester Airport

The hub will host a job fair to hire for a wide variety of working positions, including security guards, retail salespeople, truck drivers, and construction labourers.
Since the travel bans for Covid-19 were eased, the airport has recently brought on almost 2,000 additional employees, and it is currently getting ready for the bustling summer season to come. So, the hub plans to hire hundreds more workers.
With the occasion of the event, Chris Woodroofe, Managing Director at Manchester Airport, stated:
“We are always on the lookout for talented people who can help us improve the experience we provide to our passengers. This event will give jobseekers the chance to find out more about the variety of careers on offer at the airport.
“It is an exciting time to be joining us, with an ongoing £440m investment in our facilities as part of our transformation programme. We are also pleased to be supporting our partners, as they strengthen their own teams in preparation for a busy summer.”
Jobseekers may expect to meet with representatives from MAG, the airport's operator, and another dozen or so companies with a presence at the airport premises; attendees will get the opportunity to ask enterprises specific inquiries concerning the open positions, and will also receive advice on how to best demonstrate the talents and expertise most in demand by recruiters.
Candidates can also meet with representatives from the Airport Academy, a free resource for the ongoing unemployed and individuals with special needs who need help preparing for the labour market, by matching their skills with the available positions. Hundreds of individuals have been trained at the Airport Academy and placed in airport positions as a direct result.
Employment at Manchester Airport provides a number of advantages to those who are hired. Benefits include reduced fares on work commuting, free parking at the office and on-site during vacations, a generous pension plan, educational opportunities and reduced prices at shops like Duty Free.
The employment fair will be held on April 26 from 10:00 AM to 13:00 PM at the Wythenshawe Forum.
