Jerusalem Development Authority and Thomas Cook sign new deal

News

A new campaign will be developed by the two entities, in order to promote Jerusalem as a hot-spot for European travelers.

The partnership between the Jerusalem Development Authority and Thomas Cook will focus on exposing the historical importance of the City of Jerusalem, as well as increase tourism in the area.

The main attractions of these places will be presented during the Modern Ancient Life multi-market campaign promoting the vibrant cultural and modern facades of the Israeli city. From the contemporary artists to the historical figures of the Old City, the campaign, shot by 1841 agency, will deliver photographic and video content set to inspire Europeans to come and visit these sacred places.

“We are delighted to launch our new partnership with Thomas Cook, one of the leading leisure tourism companies in the world. With its global reach we will be able to reach tens of thousands of potential travelers who are looking for their next exciting and fascinating city break, and who will now see Jerusalem as a vibrant destination one must experience. We look forward to welcoming Thomas Cook customers to our unique city,” JDA’s tourism director, Ilanit Melchior, commented with the occasion of the partnership.

Stuart Adamson, from Thomas Cook, replied: “We are extremely excited to launch a new partnership with The Jerusalem Development Authority. Through a fully integrated, multi-channel campaign we will drive both destination awareness and visitation by inspiring holidaymakers and agents across Europe. By developing a campaign creative that captures the city’s rich history but also its very vibrant and modern edge, we are looking forward to showing Jerusalem in an entirely new light.”

The campaign will be launched by using the multi-approach of the tour operator and its travel agencies, such as the online, social, direct and in store channels. The target group will be tourists passed 25 years of age, from the European continent. The significant trade market presence will also activate the religious associations, in order for Jerusalem to tell its fascinating story to its new visitors.
