Individual Guides Could Be Banned at Disney World
Because it is such a large and extensive destination, Walt Disney World in Orlando occasionally requires its customers to have assistance in order to navigate the park.
Now, Disney World is considering making it illegal for guests to hire independent tour operators, as these guides are offered privately and are not associated with Disney in any way. The guides offer their services to anyone who are having difficulty navigating their way around the park as an accompaniment that may be hired out.
The elderly and those with disabilities are often the recipients of this service; they are brought to the head of the queues for amusements and rides so that they do not have to wait for an excessive amount of time.
However, following reports of guides abusing this practice, Disney World has decided to implement stricter policies. There have been reports that Disney World has issued trespass warnings to a number of third-party tour guides. They are no longer permitted in the recreational areas.
It's common for clients to lose money on both the tickets and the guides since Disney World authorities can't legally dismiss the group until after they've entered the park.
The company that operates Disney World refers to the behaviour as "unauthorized commercial activity." That is to say, these tour guides are independent businesses that are profiting off of their presence at Disney World. As for per regulations, if you do not work on the theme park, it is technically impossible for you to earn money while you are there.
According to a Disney World official, the theme park would deploy its own workers to help those with special needs.
Those tour guides who are found to have broken the guidelines are vulnerable to having their access to Disney World permanently revoked. They have the right to appeal against the ban, but they must wait one full year before doing so.
