India advises citizens to avoid non-essential travel to Ukraine
The warning against non-essential travel to Ukraine was issued by the Indian Embassy in Ukraine. Moreover, Indian nationals are recommended to respect all safety and security guidelines imposed by the Ukrainian Government.
At the same time, India calls for ending of the violences, as diplomats are concerned about escalation of the war here. Arindam Bagchi, spokesperson for the Ministry of External Affairs, declared:
“We reiterate that escalation of hostilities is in no one's interest. We urge immediate cessation of hostilities and the urgent return to the path of diplomacy and dialogue. India stands ready to support all such efforts aimed at de-escalation. [...]
"India has consistently maintained since the beginning of the conflict that the global order is anchored in the principles of the UN Charter, international law and respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity of all states."
Indian citizens are also urged to permanently maintain contact with the Indian Embassy if currently in Ukraine.
