Hormozgan's Tourism Potential Expected To Boost Local Employment

News

Activating the tourism capabilities of the southern province of Hormozgan in Iran is essential if residents are to benefit from the creation of new jobs in the region.

IRNA has recently reported that improving the province's tourist infrastructure would help relieve unemployment in part because it would provide jobs for locals. However, in order to achieve this goal, it's important to consider how well people in the area are able to convey their visions for tourism.

Nevertheless, experts stressed the need of ensuring that visitor traffic does not impede upon local industries.

Hormozgan is an Iranian province that shares a border with both the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman. It is also surrounded by the regions of Bushehr, Fars, Kerman and Sistan-Baluchestan. Hormozgan is well-known for its remarkable history and culture, breathtaking sceneries, and, most importantly, its friendly and welcoming residents.

Located in the country's southeastern corner, it has a number of islands, the most well-known of which are Kish, Hormuz, Hengam, and Qeshm.

The island of Kish, located in the Persian Gulf, has developed into a popular tourist destination during the last several decades. It is a free-trade zone with rapidly expanding hotels, malls, office buildings, and residential high-rises.

Hormuz, primarily barren and steep, is located about eight kilometres off the coast of the Strait of Hormuz, which draws many visitors with its vibrant mountains, silver sand shoreline, and lovely locals.

Travellers looking for a peaceful getaway may find what they're looking for on Hengam Island, with its rocky coastlines, lovely sunsets, and friendly inhabitants.

Tourists interested in nature will find Qeshm Island to be a paradise, since it is home to a wide variety of sights, including the Hara maritime forests and over 60 communities, most of which are spread out along the island's rocky shores. Most of the island's canyons, hills, caverns, and valleys are protected as part of the UNESCO-designated Qeshm Island Geopark, a paradise for ecotourists.
