HOK to Spearhead Terminal 3 Expansion at Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport

HOK has been chosen to design the Terminal 3 expansion at Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport, aiming to add new gates, lounges, and dining options while achieving LEED Silver certification.

HOK has been appointed to lead the design efforts for the forthcoming expansion of Terminal 3 at Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport (PHX). Announced as a key development for the airport, this expansion will include the addition of a new North Concourse, enhancing PHX's capacity and services. With construction set to commence in 2025, the project aims to add six new gates, modern lounges, and an array of dining and retail options, alongside improved wayfinding solutions.

A notable feature of the expansion is the introduction of new connections between Terminals 3 and 4, designed to streamline passenger transfers across the airport. The lower level of the concourse will be dedicated to supporting various operational needs of the airport, airlines, and vendors.

For this significant project, HOK will take on the roles of design architect and lead structural engineer. DFDG Architecture will complement the team as the local architect, ensuring the project aligns with the city's vision and requirements. This collaboration between HOK, DFDG Architecture, and the City of Phoenix is poised to deliver a design that not only caters to the immediate needs of passengers and staff but also accommodates future growth and operational flexibility.
