News

If you love horror movies and would love to be part of one then these hotels should be on your bucket list. There is no wrong time during the year for a little spookiness, so it’s all up to you!

We’ve made a list of the strangest, oldest, most horror hotels worldwide so that you can easily satisfy your paranormal activity crave.

The Stanley Hotel, Estates Park, USA

Perhaps you can recognize this hotel from the setting of the iconic Stephen King novel The Shining. When King and his wife first came here in 1974, they were the only 2 staying overnight as the hotel was about to close for the season. Pretty familiar, right? Well, it wasn’t until the 1970’s that paranormal activity was reported; however, whether is truly haunted or people simply want it to be, it makes no difference – you will still look over your shoulder when you check in.

Langham Hotel, London, England

Want to catch a ghost? This hotel is your best shot. It is riddled with ghosts and is rich in a history of paranormal activity. A doctor who killed his wife and then committed suicide, a man with a deep wound on his face, a former butler who wanders the hallways and…Napoleon III? You can see it all here, but are you brave enough?

The hotel was opened back in 1865 and was the city’s first luxury hotel. Over the years, it has welcomed everyone from celebrities to royals and…ghosts!

Queen Anne Hotel, San Francisco, USA

This place used to be a finishing school for girls in the 1800s, and the story of it tells us that the headmistress of the school was not ready to leave after she passed away. Even so, have no fear, as she is one of the friendly ghosts – she was a really sweet, warm-hearted headmistress. It has been reported that she uses to cover up sleeping travelers with blankets and even unpack their suitcases, so there you have one special customer service!

Toftaholm Herrgård, Sweden

This hotel is located right next to the Lake Vidöstern in Lagan, Sweden and it looks really cute. However, its history is not that sweet. The hotel used to be a private manor and was owned by a wealthy baron. It is believed that is haunted by a young man who committed suicide in room 324 after the baron refused to let him marry his daughter. Guests reported seeing the boy roaming the property and windows closing on their own.
The Hotel Roosevelt, Los Angeles, USA

This hotel has quite a history, populated with Hollywood’s celebrities and very important people. It has been said that the spirit of Marilyn Monroe still roams the hallways, as she famously lived here while her modeling career was about to take off.
