Half Of Decade Of Service For The Norwegian Bliss

This month marks the fifth year of duty for the Norwegian Bliss cruise ship.
Norwegian Cruise Line welcomed the vessel on April 19, 2018, making it the third liner in the Breakaway-Plus class. And this April, we celebrate its 5th anniversary in service at sea.
The Bliss, which was constructed at the German shipyard Meyer Werft, set sail for Southampton upon her completion and eventually made its journey across the Atlantic Ocean to New York. The impressive and luxurious boat, which can accommodate up to 4,200 passengers, was unveiled to the American press and notable personalities at the Manhattan Cruise Terminal ceremony before making its inaugural voyage to the West Coast ports of Miami, Los Angeles, and Seattle.
The Bliss, while originally built for Alaskan waters, made history when it ended up being the biggest ship to pass through the Panama Canal. In an official ceremonial event held in Seattle prior to the ship's first paying passengers boarded, star Elvis Duran gave the Norwegian Bliss its official name.
The vessel did not officially begin its first season of service until the beginning of June, when it began conducting cruises to Alaska that lasted for seven nights. The programme consisted of a standard route that included visits at Ketchikan, Juneau, Skagway, and Victoria. The voyage began and ended at the dry dock in Washington.
The Bliss has a hull painting much like the rest of Norwegian's modern fleet. Robert Wyland, an expert in marine life, created this painting to raise awareness about the value of protecting the ocean. The ship's designers also took into account passenger feedback and included better amenities including a bigger Observation Lounge, an outdoor laser tag course, and a two-story go-kart lane. The Norwegian Bliss also arrived with a variety of specialised eating options, some of which were brand-new to Norwegian. The Texas-style BBQ house, one of the ship's biggest dining venues, features a themed menu and live country performances.
Norwegian Bliss cruise ship was built at a cost of around $1.1 billion.
