Finnair To Add New Connections Across Europe

News

As a part of its summer 2023 expansion strategy, Finnair will begin new operations to Norway and Italy in addition to resuming service to the capital of Slovenia.

“Travel has recovered at a good pace so we are increasing flights to popular destinations across Europe for leisure and business travellers. We also rescheduled a number of services - both long and short-haul - to ensure seamless connectivity for our flights to Japan to meet the increase in demand from Asia,” explained Ole Orver, Finnair’s CCO.

Beginning with the debut of the summer schedule in late March, the airline will launch new routes from its Helsinki hub to Bodo in Norway and Milan Linate.

This summer season, Finnair will expand its short-haul timetable to include more than 50 European destinations, including the return of operations to Ljubljana and new routes to Berlin, Copenhagen, Vilnius, and Riga.

The airline will launch three weekly flights to Bodo, and the new Milan Linate service will supplement the carrier's current route to Milan Malpensa.

Even if the airline has been re-establishing its long-haul network in previous months, it has been hampered by the fact that it cannot fly via Russian territory on several of its trips to Asia.
