English vs. French Blind Wine Tasting in London

News

The event aims to test the theory that champagnes are the most superior sparklings worldwide, and whether or not they can be usurped by their English cousins when it comes to both flavor and value.

The wine that wins will receive a place on the menu at Fiz’s permanent London location the following year.

Guests will test 4 French champagnes, 4 English sparkling wines, and will have their own scoreboard.

The wines are going to be carefully concealed, and none of the bottles will have tags and brand names, while their contents will be put in different bottles so that no one can guess what it is.

During the evening, the attendees will sample all eight wines and score them as they consider, while the grand reveal will take place at the end to crown the winner.

England will participate with wines from estates, such as Hush Heath, Ridgeview, Nyetimber and Camel Valley.

On the other side, French champagnes will include Moët & Chandon, Bollinger, Veuve Clicquot and Laurent-Perrier.

Alongside the wines, Local meats and cheeses will be served.

Fiz is a summer long pop-up located in Soho and inspired by the vibrant and sociable food and drink scene that can be discovered in the backstreet cava bars of Barcelona.

The founders, Barney Lewis and Jordan Nadian are on a mission to redefine bubbly as being affordable and accessible.
