Dublin Airport inaugurates new Doha route

Qatar Airways will operate daily services between the two cities, by using an astonishing next-generation Airbus A350 aircraft

 

To mark the occasion, the inaugural flight was greeted by VIPs, media representatives and key figures from the airline industry: Jonathan Harding, the senior vice president of Qatar Airways Europe, Kevin Toland, the CEO of Qatar Airways Europe Dublin Airport, the managing director Vincent Harrison and the chief executive of Tourism Ireland, Niall Gibbons.

As the state-of-the-art Airbus A350 was a first for Ireland, the crowd was extremely impressed by the features of the airplane. Nevertheless, the aircraft was used for the inaugural flight only, as the new Dublin-Doha route will be operated by a Boeing 787 Dreamliner, accounting for a total of 254 passenger seats.

“The launch of our new service to Dublin is an important milestone for Qatar Airways. The new service will connect the Irish people with more destinations globally and provide them the opportunity to experience our five-star service. We look forward to welcoming our new passengers on board and to connecting them to Doha and beyond,” commented the CEO of Qatar Airways Akbar Al Baker.

The CEO of Qatar Airways Europe Dublin Airport, Kevin Toland, replied: “We want to express our warmest welcome to Qatar Airways and its new route between Dublin and Doha. This is a fantastic addition to our selection of destinations, and it is a great opportunity to boost Ireland’s tourism.”

The new route will enable customers from Ireland to have premium access to countries in the Middle East, Asia and Australia. The extensive network will serve both business and leisure travelers, while delivering new entertainment features and luxury services Qatar Airways has already built its brand identity around.
