Delta Air Lines will expand its trans-Pacific network with the launch of daily nonstop service between Seattle-Tacoma International Airport and Tokyo Narita International Airport beginning in late March 2027.
The new route will complement Delta’s existing Seattle–Tokyo Haneda service, making Seattle the only U.S. gateway in Delta’s network with nonstop flights to both of Tokyo’s major airports.
Two Nonstop Options to Tokyo
The addition of Narita service gives passengers greater flexibility depending on their destination in Japan or onward travel plans.
Delta already operates flights to Tokyo Haneda from Seattle, Atlanta, Detroit, Minneapolis-St. Paul, Los Angeles and Honolulu. With the new Narita route, travelers departing from Seattle and connecting through the airline’s domestic network will have two direct gateway options into the Japanese capital.
Jeff Arinder, Delta’s Vice President of International Network Planning, said the expansion reflects continued demand for travel to Japan.
“Japan continues to be one of the most important and beloved destinations in Delta’s global network. With service to both Haneda and Narita, Delta will offer more capacity and two convenient ways to access Tokyo, supported by the strength of our U.S. network.”
Daily Airbus A330-900neo Service
The new Seattle–Narita route will operate daily using the Airbus A330-900neo.
Passengers will have access to Delta’s full range of long-haul cabins, including Delta One, Delta Premium Select, Delta Comfort and Delta Main, alongside the airline’s latest onboard entertainment and premium travel amenities.
Seattle Continues to Grow as Delta’s Pacific Hub
The new service further strengthens Seattle’s position as Delta’s primary Pacific gateway.
The airline currently operates more than 160 peak-day departures from Seattle to over 62 destinations, including recently launched nonstop services to Barcelona and Rome.
Eligible premium passengers departing from Seattle also have access to the recently opened Delta One Lounge, part of the airline’s broader investment in enhancing the customer experience at its West Coast hub.
Port of Seattle Commissioner Toshiko Hasegawa welcomed the announcement.
“Expanding service to both Narita and Haneda gives travelers more choice while strengthening the economic and cultural ties that have long connected Japan and the Pacific Northwest.”
More Connections Across Japan and Asia
Beyond Tokyo, the new route improves access to destinations throughout Japan via domestic connections.
Delta also continues to expand travel options through its joint venture with Korean Air, offering connections via Seoul Incheon to 15 destinations across Japan, including Osaka and Sapporo.
In addition to passenger services, the new Seattle–Narita flight will provide additional cargo capacity between Japan and the United States, supporting trade and freight demand across the Pacific.
