Cruise line introduces on-board same-sex marriage ceremonies packages

Celebrity Cruises is the company that has decided to make the historical move. 

 

The cruise line’s representatives have announced that CC will offer same-sex marriage ceremonies on board of its luxury ships, as this kind of events are currently legally recognized.

The decision translates into a historic step towards tolerance and diversity, as well as an important marketing strategy for the company promoting luxury services.

The new feature was introduced as a result of a transformative vote in Malta, the Mediterranean nation where the company has registered its entire fleet. The referendum was approved by the Parliament with an overwhelming majority of votes.

The ceremonies will be officiated by the Celebrity ships’ captains.

“I am absolutely thrilled to announce that starting today, we welcome same-sex couples to marry on our ships while in international waters. This is one for the history books!” commented Lisa Lutoff-Perlo, the company’s President.

The weddings schedule on Celebrity Cruises is currently available for reservations. Moreover, the company also offers special honeymoon packages for the newlyweds.
