British Airways and wine retailer – business partnership
The programme, launched last week in collaboration with IAG Loyalty, enables British Airways’ Executive Club loyalty members to be rewarded 10 Avios per each £1 spent on wine. Customers can choose from a generous selection of over 140 high-quality wines produced across the airline’s various countries of destination.
Available prices start from an average of £10 per bottle or a little more for premium products such as Whispering Angel, Penfolds, Moët & Chandon and Teusner’s ‘The Riebke’ Shiraz. The purchases in the campaign can also extend to spirits, beers or non-alcoholic beverages.
Customers that are not members of the loyalty club will collect 5 Avios per £1 in the shopping beverages basket.
Jack Smith, the CEO of IAG Loyalty’s subsidiary, commented:
“By launching The Wine Flyer, we have introduced one of the most generous Avios earning platforms available. A monthly subscription will help customers collect enough Avios to fly to destinations such Paris, Barcelona or Naples in just six months.
“We know that wine is a huge passion of many of our members, so we’re offering a broad choice in country, region, grape, style and price point to suit as many customers as possible. We have a unique opportunity to bring customers a variety of wines, including those that they’ve enjoyed in the air on British Airways flights, or in its lounges.”
A special offer will also be on for all clients until 31 December 2022, enabling bonus earnings of 10 Avios per £1 for non-members, and 15 Avios per £1 on subscriptions. Both cash and Avios are accepted as payment options.
