Boeing's aviation market set to grow to $6tn
39.620 new Boeing aircrafts are already awaiting to be delivered until 2036, as the orders for the company have increased by 4.1 per cent when compared to last year
According to the annual Current Market Outlook report released by Boeing, the value of the new airplanes that will reach their owners during the next 20 years will raise to almost $6 trillions.
While the single-aisle market serving especially low-cost carriers will need 28,140 new airplanes will be needed in this segment, an 5 per cent increase when compared to last year, on the wide-body segment, 9.100 airplanes are in the forecast. The small and medium wide-body aircrafts, such as the787, 777 and 777X, are expected to be build and delivered in the 2021- 2028 time frame.
“Despite recent events that have impacted the financial markets, the aviation sector will continue to see long-term growth with the commercial fleet doubling in size. We expect to see passenger traffic grow 4.8 per cent a year over the next two decades,” explained Randy Tinseth, Marketing VP at Boeing Commercial Airplanes.
Moreover, experts forecast cargo traffic to constantly grow at 4.2 per-cent each year. Consequently, Boeing is currently projecting the building of 930 new freighters and 1.440 converted freighters to successfully meet the cargo market demands.
