Barcelona to welcome World Routes
Worldwide aviation industry representatives will be present at the event in Barcelona this weekend.
Officials from global airports and airlines will attend World Routes in Barcelona, in what will be the main aviation event of the year during September 23rd-26th.
More than 2.600 delegates from 130 countries will be present at Barcelona’s Fira Gran Via, in order to decide future investments in the sector, as well as new innovative project boosting worldwide aviation businesses. 275 airlines, 610 airports and 90 tourism giants will as well join the annual event in the capital of Catalonia.
“World Routes 2017 promises to be outstanding with record-breaking numbers of airlines and airports. I’m confident that our delegates will have an extremely productive event and take the opportunity to explore Catalonia’s charms,” declared Steven Small, brand director of World Routes.
One of the event’s goals is to upgrade Barcelona El Prat Airport’ long haul traffic, as currently only 33 per cent of its intercontinental traffic offers direct routes.
The city welcoming 13 million tourists every year was chosen to host the event with the support of government of Catalonia and Barcelona City Council.
