ATEC to launch breast cancer awareness campaign
The Australian Tourism Export Council is working to generate funds for Breast Care Nurses, an organisation who aids individuals and their families impacted by breast cancer through physical, psychological, and emotional care during diagnosis and treatment in support of the McGrath Foundation's work.
In order to reach the McGrath Foundation's objective of 250 McGrath Breast Care Nurses by 2025, constant funding is required.
ATEC Managing Director Peter Shelley commented:
“Women absolutely power our tourism industry and we all know of women within our work, family and friend network who have been through or are going though treatment so we feel compelled to show our support and to honour their experience.
“We look forward to seeing our industry friends joining us to ‘Pink up Tourism’ and urge people to support the McGrath Foundation in their important work.”
With the new campaign, ATEC is encouraging people to dress in pink, post their photo to Linkedin and make a donation for the cause, under the #pinkuptourism hashtag.
‘Pink up Tourism’ aims to increase awareness about breast cancer incidence, as well as recognize the significant contribution of women to Australia's growing tourism industry.
