American Queen Voyages cancels Feb. sailings to improve customer experience, impacting bookings and partnerships.

American Queen Voyages announced the cancellation of several February sailings due to a need to extend their layup schedule for enhancing customer experience. The affected cruises include the February 26 journey on the American Queen and the February 22 and 25 voyages on the American Countess. The company is in the process of informing impacted passengers about refunds and subsequent steps.

Pleasant Holidays, having halted sales for the river cruise line last November, reported seven bookings affected by these cancellations. This development follows the suspension of American Queen Voyages' sales by Signature Travel Network due to service concerns, a move echoed by other organizations like AAA Travel, Virtuoso, and Travelsavers over the past year.

In response to these challenges, American Queen Voyages issued an apology in January, pledging swift action to resolve the issues. Despite these assurances, Pleasant Holidays, anticipating to restart sales by the end of January, had not observed significant progress by February 2, as noted by CEO Jack Richards.
