American expands Flagship Suite® to 3 continents this winter

American Airlines is bringing a new level of luxury to international travel this winter by expanding its premium Flagship Suite® experience to more long-haul destinations across three continents. Passengers flying to London, Buenos Aires, Auckland, and Brisbane will now be able to enjoy the airline’s most exclusive cabin, available on its newly designed Boeing 787-9 aircraft.
The rollout begins this summer with flights from Chicago to London, followed by daily services from Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) to Auckland and Brisbane starting later this year. Travelers heading to Buenos Aires or flying from Philadelphia to London will also benefit from the premium upgrade during the winter season.
“We’re excited to expand our newly debuted Flagship Suite® seats to new long-haul destinations,” said Brian Znotins, Senior VP of Network and Schedule Planning. “This gives customers a more elevated experience on some of our longest and most in-demand routes.”
Routes, comfort and exclusive features
American is the only airline currently offering direct flights from DFW to both Auckland and Brisbane. With 51 Flagship Suite® seats and 32 Premium Economy seats onboard, passengers can enjoy fully lie-flat seating, chaise lounge functionality, high-end bedding, slippers, pajamas, and sleep-focused amenities tailored to each cabin.
Travelers can book the new Flagship Suite® seats starting July 7 through aa.com or the American Airlines app. All flights from Chicago to London (ORD–LHR) will feature the upgraded Boeing 787-9 from July 5 onward, with additional enhancements across Philadelphia and Dallas routes during the winter holiday season.
London remains a key market for American, with up to 1,500 daily premium seats available to Heathrow (LHR) this winter—making the airline the largest U.S. carrier flying to the UK capital.
Customers can identify flights featuring the upgraded experience by looking for the “78P” aircraft code when booking.
In addition, American plans to further improve comfort in Flagship® Business class on widebody flights to East Asia, India, the Middle East, Australia, and New Zealand by adding pajamas and mattress pads to its existing suite of bedding and amenity options later this year.
With this expansion, American continues to position itself as a global leader in long-haul premium travel, redefining comfort and customization at cruising altitude.
