Air New Zealand Introduces Parents’ Favorite Feature
The company decided to give parents a hand and make their trip easier, and more comfortable for both themselves and their children.
Back in 2010, the company released SkyCouch, the flexible seating option that turns a row of seats into a small bad so that people can lay down. Furthermore, the company continued adding SkyCouch as an option for more and more planes.
Now, the company decided to take things further and add another important feature, especially designed for parents traveling with small children. SkyCouch’s new addition is a special infant harness and belt that lets them lie down flat while the plane is up in the air, and gives parents a lot of piece of mind.
Moreover, the airline is also introducing an infant pod similar to a plane-sized bassinet and retools its Cuddle Blet, which only allowed 1-2 adults and one child to use it at a time. This new version lets two children lay down side-by-side.
Even though it is not the same as flying flat in a business class seat, the SkyCouch is a great solution. This way, parents won’t have to keep their kids up during the entire flight.
SkyCouch is available on long-haul flights on Boeing 777s and 787-9s and comes in three different sizes. However, the price is as expected, between $300 and $800.
So, if you are traveling with children for more than just a few hours by plane, perhaps you should consider paying the extra fee for your piece of mind and comfort during the flight.
