The national carrier is set to implement fare caps and introduce over 6,000 additional seats in key markets previously served by Lynx Air. This initiative aims to support Lynx Air's customers left without travel options by offering them affordable travel solutions in Air Canada's Economy cabin for destinations within Canada, the United States, and Cancun, Mexico, especially during the critical travel period of March Spring break and the Easter holidays.

The special fares are accessible for booking prior to February 26, with travel valid up until April 2, ensuring coverage for the impending holiday season. All bookings can be made through Air Canada's official website or authorized travel agents. It is important to note that Air Canada will not accept Lynx Air tickets directly, and affected passengers are directed to seek guidance from the Canadian Transportation Agency's website for further assistance.

In a strategic move to accommodate the expected increase in passenger volume, Air Canada is set to expand its capacity by adding more than 6,000 seats on routes from Toronto and Montreal to popular destinations including Cancun, Fort Myers, Orlando, Tampa, Phoenix, and Las Vegas. This augmentation is scheduled between February 25 and March 19, aiming to mitigate the impact on travelers affected by Lynx Air's operational halt.
