Oceania Cruises Highlights Longer Voyages and 180-Day Around the World Sailings

Oceania Cruises Highlights Longer Voyages and 180-Day Around the World Sailings

Oceania Cruises is placing a stronger focus on longer, destination-rich voyages, as luxury travelers increasingly look for slower and more immersive ways to explore multiple regions in a single trip.

The cruise line’s portfolio includes extended Grand Voyages and 180-day Around the World sailings designed to let guests spend more time experiencing destinations without the repeated flights, hotel changes and complex logistics associated with traditional multi-country travel.

Across its fleet, Oceania Cruises offers access to more than 600 destinations worldwide, ranging from major cultural capitals and UNESCO-listed sites to smaller coastal ports.

Oceania Cruises Expands Focus on Slow Travel

The company says longer itineraries are increasingly appealing to travelers who want to see more of a region without moving at a rushed pace.

Extended voyages allow guests to combine several countries, cultures and landscapes in one continuous itinerary while using the ship as a consistent base throughout the journey.

Jason Montague, Chief Luxury Officer of Oceania Cruises, said:

“For today’s luxury traveler, discovering somewhere new is about more than moving from one place to another. Longer voyages give guests the time to experience destinations differently. They can linger a little longer, venture farther and appreciate the character of each place without feeling rushed.”

He added:

“Combined with enriching experiences on board and carefully curated small-group excursions ashore, it is a wonderfully rewarding way to see the world. Every journey reflects our belief that the greatest luxury is having the time to truly enjoy it.”

Longer Voyages Designed Around Comfort and Convenience

Oceania Cruises positions its longer sailings as an alternative to complex multi-country itineraries involving multiple flights and hotel changes.

Guests can travel between continents and regions while returning to the same accommodation each night, with sea days providing additional time for onboard dining, enrichment and relaxation.

The line’s adults-only environment also supports a quieter travel experience, particularly on itineraries lasting several weeks or months.

Oceania Aurelia to Debut in Late 2027

A central part of the company’s longer-voyage strategy will be Oceania Aurelia, scheduled to debut in late 2027.

The ship is being designed specifically with extended journeys in mind and will operate Oceania Cruises’ 2028 and 2029 Around the World voyages.

Fewer Than 250 Suites and Staterooms

Oceania Aurelia will feature fewer than 250 suites and staterooms, creating a smaller-scale onboard environment compared with larger cruise ships.

The company describes the design concept as similar to a private club at sea, with an emphasis on space, personalized service and a relaxed atmosphere.

2028 Around the World Cruise From Miami to New York

One of the headline itineraries is the 2028 Around the World in 180 Days voyage aboard Oceania Aurelia.

The cruise departs Miami on January 18, 2028 and finishes in New York after a six-month global journey.

The itinerary includes:

  • Mexico and Central America
  • Hawaii
  • The South Pacific
  • Australia
  • Asia
  • Europe

The voyage is designed as a full circumnavigation, combining tropical destinations, major Asian cities and historic European ports.

2029 Around the World Cruise From Los Angeles to New York

Oceania Aurelia will also operate another 180-day global voyage in 2029.

The 2029 Around the World in 180 Days cruise departs Los Angeles on January 6, 2029 and concludes in New York.

The itinerary will explore South America before continuing through the South Pacific, New Zealand, Australia, Asia and Europe.

68-Day Sydney to Vancouver Voyage

The Epic Reefs to Icy Glaciers itinerary aboard Oceania Riviera will operate for 68 days from Sydney to Vancouver.

Departing on March 7, 2027, the voyage combines Australia, Southeast Asia, Japan and Alaska.

Highlights include:

  • The Great Barrier Reef
  • Komodo dragon habitats
  • Asian temples and cultural destinations
  • Japan
  • Alaska’s wilderness
  • Hubbard Glacier

The itinerary ends in Vancouver after crossing several major geographical regions.

39-Day Singapore to Vancouver Sailing

Oceania Riviera will also operate the Asia to Alaska Majesty itinerary, a 39-day voyage from Singapore to Vancouver.

The cruise departs on April 5, 2027 and visits destinations including the Philippines, Hong Kong and Japan before continuing to Alaska and Canada.

Featured experiences include Hong Kong’s Tai O stilt village, Tokyo Skytree and glacial landscapes near Homer.

66-Day Trieste to London Voyage

Oceania Marina will operate the Springing Into Summer itinerary, a 66-day voyage from Trieste to London departing on April 17, 2027.

The route combines the Adriatic, Mediterranean and Northern Europe.

Destinations include:

  • Koper
  • Zadar
  • Corfu
  • Sicily
  • Rome
  • Spain
  • France
  • Northern Europe

The itinerary is designed to combine historic cities, coastal destinations and major European cultural centres within a single sailing.

31-Day Holiday Crossing to Miami

Another highlighted itinerary is Holiday Crossing, a 31-day voyage aboard Oceania Aurelia.

The cruise departs Athens on December 18, 2027 and travels through Italy, France and Spain before visiting the Canary Islands and crossing the Atlantic.

A call at San Juan is included before the voyage concludes in Miami.

Oceania Cruises Builds Longer Itineraries Around Destination Depth

The company’s wider strategy reflects growing interest in longer cruises that offer more time both ashore and onboard.

Rather than focusing only on individual ports, Oceania Cruises is using extended itineraries to connect entire regions and create journeys built around geographic progression.

For guests, the appeal lies in combining multiple destinations with the consistency of a single ship and a slower overall pace.

With Oceania Aurelia joining the fleet in late 2027 and two 180-day Around the World sailings already planned, the cruise line is continuing to expand the role of long-form itineraries within its luxury travel offering.
